Amazed Sam got through that list of questions...he's usually the slowest talker ever.

saints are tricky...best thing to do is get Disc brake cleaner...spray the disc and light it. This'll burn off most of the oil and pull the grime together. Then get some sterilising wipes (alcohol only with no moisturiser obviously) and give them a good run round. You'd be amazed how black they come off. For the pads...spray with disc cleaner and rub them together, then do the same with a clean degreaser like swarfega, and repeat with disc cleaner. If you're pads are well worn and contaminated though the only option is new pads unfortunately.

if you can be arsed with the 3 month wait to see an orthopaedic surgeon on the NHS be my guest. :P

I got a consultation with a doctor to fix my ankle from the family. It didn't cost anywhere near as much as some of these people got, but it means I can ride a bike again, and it out-values any material goods you can name.

why do we all look confused and depressed in this photo? :P

joemtbftw. I have been running V12s with terror pins for years, and they just aren't a patch on these pedals. The bearing quality, pedal profile, grip offered...everything is just ten times better. As for your size problems, these things are almost the largest platform available, which is great for guys like me with size 14s that like to ride on the ball of their feet. Best thing Ive ever bought for my bike, no contest.

Swap you for some Kenda Telonix tyres, a tioga stem, a Marshall MG50 DFX amplifier, some stunt pegs and my old iPod? As long as my mum says its ok?

@Dingo-dave. Do you have an evidence base to support that statement?

Hey mate, yeah Nic sorted me out. I'm getting them through cyclescheme so the shop already loses a bit off them for that. He still knocked about £30 off on top of that. I got my voucher authorised and order a pair of the 2012 36 float fit rlc today, should hopefully get em in about a week or so. You can give me a shout if you see them arrive Smile

I'm sorry the Quad Trail not the Wolf Ridge, that's more XC/AM oriented I guess.

I saw you ended up going with a Wolf Ridge. (I was reading a forum and saw you were looking for a new bike and was told about the Marins Quake) Was it what you expected when you were listening to the advice of those guys in the forum? I went with a Quake to replace my IH Yakuza Kumicho setup, and it does pedal waaay better, still haven't done a proper DH test to get a feel for it DH/FR/Park wise.
